Meet Our New Home Manager at Glencorse
We are excited to introduce Leigh Young as the new Home Manager at Glencorse Care Home. With a wealth of experience and a deep passion for both nursing and people management, Leigh is a perfect fit for our team, and we are thrilled to have her on board.
A Rich Career in Nursing and Care Home Management
Leigh has dedicated over 10 years to nursing, beginning her career in the transplant unit at the Royal Infirmary, where she honed her skills in providing critical care. Seeking to expand her expertise, Leigh moved into the private sector, taking on the role of Deputy Manager to help commission a brand new care home. During this time, she developed not only her nursing expertise but also vital leadership and people management skills.
Leigh's commitment to furthering her professional growth led her to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Practice, with special focus on Clinical Decision-Making and Prescribing as a District Nurse. While she excelled in her role as a District Nurse, Leigh found herself missing the world of Care Home Management, where she feels her passion truly lies.

Leigh is driven by a deep commitment to ensuring that residents at Glencorse receive the highest standard of care, while also fostering a motivated and engaged team of staff. She believe in creating a nurturing environment where everyone - residents, families, and staff - feel supported and valued. With her background in person-centred care and clinical practice, Leigh is dedicated to creating a home-like atmosphere that encourages community involvement, with families actively participating in the life of the home.
As the new Home Manager, Leigh's focus will be on continuing to deliver gold-standard care while supporting the professional development of staff to ensure they are equipped to meet the every-evolving needs of our residents.
